Does the OFGEM price cap apply to business tariffs?

Options
My energy contracts are due for renewal. Unfortunately I am not in a position to sign more than a one year contract because my premises lease needs to be renegotiated with new owners, and the cancellation clauses on the 2 or 3 year energy deals I have been offered are onerous.
I suspect I may be better off staying on "out of contract" rates until the current energy crisis comes under control. My worry is that I could be charged a small fortune in the meantime.
So... As it says in the title, does anyone know if the OFGEM price cap applies to business tariffs?

I dont believe it does... OFGEM only mention price caps under the Consumer-Household section of their website and not at all under the Consumer-Business

Generally this type of legislation only protects private individuals as business are seen as being able to defend themselves, there are some cases where personal protections are extended to micro-businesses though.

Ask them for prices for a one year contract?
Signature removed for peace of mind

No it doesn't and this is one area where the companies may try to cover losses, so businesses need to be on their guard for huge increases.

Most companies would not offer such a contract.
