Total spent so far: £138/£400
As previously mentioned, my month is from 25th of the previous month (so it makes October a 5 week month for us).
first two weeks OH was away so small spends:
Week 1: £38.94
Week 2: £40.92
I have a delivery pass with Morrisons so add on £8 for that to the bill.
This week we are both having a week off and I’ve been able to get the shop down to £50.25 for the week.
This included: Weetabix Choc melts (OH loves them), spinach, 2 tubs cream cheese, Extra Mature Cheddar, shortbread fingers, crisps, baked beans, houmous, two packs strawberries, 2x bio yoghurts, ham, 4x pasta bake sauces (on offer), crumpets, lettuce, eggs, fusilli, lemons, peppers, asparagus, 2x Ribena (on offer), 2x 4 pints milk, 2x tortellini (on offer), double cream, Mayo, 2x pasta sauce (on offer), carrots, wraps, blueberries, broccoli, bananas and crackers - missing was some Turkey mince and sausages which I will pick up later.
Meals:
Breakfast - Cereal, Omlette and Crumpets
Lunch- Jacket Potatoes, Cheese & Beans, ham and cheese wraps, leftovers from the previous nights dinner (I cook enough for 4).
Dinners:
’Mash-up’ - this is chorizo, tortellini, sausages, asparagus, peppers in pasta sauce
Chicken & Broccoli Pasta
Garlic Dijon Grilled Chicken
Garlic & Herb Spaghetti
Pasta Bake
Saturday we’ll have a takeaway and Sunday is food delivery again so we’ll likely have a stew. Using up the chicken breasts I have in the freezer this week so it’s kept the spend low.5 -
I managed to stay away from the supermarket yesterday but did have to spend some money at the ironmongers on another new washing up brush and two mouse traps as I spotted one sauntering casually around the corner of my tallest, heaviest bookcase on Saturday evening! AAAARGH!
Anyway I spent £7.48 which makes my new total £21.38/£124 and my average daily spend £1.94 which is very respectable, however I am nearly out of milk so will have to be very careful when stocking up.5 -
Morning all,
Spends to declare here, too many to list leaving very little left over from out budget however there is some jiggling to do with DH as he knows unless it’s Aldee or Lidlll beer he pays for it himself. We are also trying to eat less rubbish from this week, since we’re both pretty bad for snacking on actual food instead of snacks so I’m sure it’s having an impact on our budget. With £35 left in the pot, we had better get using our cupboards and freezer! Especially since I increased from £230 to £250 this month and clearly would already be over.At least it makes sense now with proof that whilst feeding my small one and not having sandwiches every day actually does impact our budget!Anyway, meal plan incoming!Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

A couple of spends here:
£23.57 on booze from the Spar on Thursday - I hadn't planned to get any last weekend then OH decided he fancied a rum which led to me fancying a wine etc.....
£5.00 in Tesco on drinks and snacks for the journey to my in-laws, still have a pack of chocolate and some sweets left
£7.49 on nappy liners for DD from Amazon (reusable nappies, biodegradable liners), not my usual brand as i needed the fast delivery
Updated total £230.21/£480.00
Based on my calculations that leaves me £48.29 until the end of the week of how I wanted to track this month.
That should be fine, I have a small list for this evening to cover off the next couple of days and will do a bigger shop at the weekend.
I heard a report the other day saying that Asda is the cheapest Supermarket, beating Lidl and Aldi so will likely work up a Supermarket delivery for sometime this month to see how we fare.June Grocery Challenge £0/£250
