hi am a newbie and need of some advice as carer for my husband of 12 years i find my self having problems with oa arthritis and don t know if i should claim pip as i don t know how to explain the problem i have as well as caring for my husband needs . i have pain my my knees ,shoulders and feet and my husband need help from cooker to planning a route some where unfamillar can any body help

You can be a carer and claim a disability benefit yourself, unless your caring duties contradict the reasons why you're claiming PIP there shouldn't be any problems. For PIP you must be under state pension age. There's some details here regarding the criteria.It would also be helpful to have a read of this to try to have a better understanding of the PIP descriptors and the criteria. It's long but well worth taking some time to have a read.If you do apply then getting some help to fill out the forms will also be useful because they are complex and very long.
