B&M Friars gate Doncaster smart parking fine

I received a letter today from Smart Parking B&M friars gate Doncaster. Stating I was 19 minutes over their 90 minutes Parking time. I have no proof of purchase as I paid cash and didn't take the recipe. Now I have a letter with a £90 Parking fine. Any help would be very much appreciated as I don't know what to do now.

Read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements , that is your first task , especially the first post

Plan A is your best option , complain to the retailer or retail park management and get it cancelled by them

Appeal as keeper using the blue text template from the newbies FAQ sticky thread to Smart Parking , no blabbing about who was driving , to ticking any boxes that say , I was the driver , either

No telling anyone who was driving , use the royal WE , we visited your store , we received a PCN , we want it cancelled ,cetc

Drivers who blab lose !!    don't be that person. !!

POFA overrides any case against a keeper by Smart Parking , because SP fail to comply with the law and have done so for 9 years !! The OP has a notice to Keeper , not to driver

They may have a case against a known driver , depending on the signage and landowner authority contract , but we haven't seen either

A lot of contracts allow genuine customers to extend their time on site , plus some explicitly do not allow the operator to issue court proceedings against genuine customers

It is not a fine, please read the newbies and complain to your  MP.

Read also what Pete Wishart MP said recently in the House of commons about Smart Parking.

"I am sick and tired of receiving emails from people complaining about the behaviour of parking companies, telling me that they will never again visit Perth city centre because of the negative experience they had when they had the misfortune to end up in a car park operated by one of these companies. I have received more complaints about one car park in the city of Perth than about any other issue. That car park is operated by the lone ranger of the parking cowboys: the hated and appalling Smart Parking—I see that many other Members are unfortunate enough to have Smart Parking operating in their constituencies. It has reached the stage where one member of my staff now spends a good part of each day just helping my constituents and visitors to my constituency to navigate the appeals process.

The BPA does not have the ability to regulate these companies and has shown no sign whatsoever that it is trying to get on top of some of the sharper practices. The BPA gives a veneer of legitimacy to some of the more outlandish rogue operators by including them in their membership, allowing them to continue to operate. The Bill will oblige operators such as Smart Parking to amend their practices.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    Obviously a receipt proves patronage.
A receipt can often be useful in persuading a shopkeeper to get the parking charge cancelled.
I don't understand the irrelevance of that.

    Who cares about that?

Being over the allocated parking time allowance is irrelevant to a registered keeper appellant in Smart Parking cases, and this is the easiest one for the OP to win if they just read other Smart Parking threads,  An absolute cinch.

Why do PPCs not bother to use the POFA?  What's your take on it, Terry?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
