Morning all,Gers, what a lovely photo, enjoy your day in Ripon, some nice changes of scenery and company for you. Thanks nmlcI hope everyone else is doing ok, it's gorgeous here atm. I'm going to pop into town to get some little bits for DGD birthday at the weekend , and I've booked the flu jab at Boots.Yesterday we went to a garden centre & had a lovely breakfast in the cafe, then bought some meat and other stuff from their food dept, including a garlic & herb spatchcocked chicken which we had for tea- it was delicious, apple pie and ice cream after.Csarina, sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip, let's hope the rebooked one is successful.Dumpling thinking of you and your sister. Hugs, & to anyone else in need of one x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10

Morning all. Sunny! But cold...Autumn is sneaking the cold bits in again...Forms to fill in today for remortgaging and house selling, i did intend to do it yesterday but looked at it sideways and gave up. I made two new shelves under the stairs, the ones that were there weren't deep enough for two jars to go one in front of the other so four bits of wood used from garage and the two I took off wil be kindling for this year. Made some passatta with the current batch of ripe tomatoes, got four two litre jars out of it, I'm hoping to get eight to ten half litre ones with the next lot. I was toying with the idea of buying a load of tomatoes to do it but I haven't got a clue where to go to get them. Buying them from a SM or a farm shop would just be too expensive. My new plastic mouli worked really well though, I found it better than the stainless steel one I used to have that broke.I'm going shopping today for cat treats so I was thinking I'd stop off in a sm or two to look for ys meat to fill the freezers back up again. Maybe get a couple of joints for the winter. I really need to work out how much food we actually use but then that sounds like a big bag of no fun at all to me, so I probably won't
I also need to declutter them and throw out the odd bits and pieces that inevitably appear, like the inch piece of artic roll that is in there, where that came from, who knows, I don't even like the stuff.
Beautiful sunflwoers Gers, such a chirpy sight! Sorry about your holiday csarina...dumpling, sorry about your sister, chemo can be really ugly. Ruby, you said aubergine so now I have to make a moussaka, it's the law....:) Hope you're all doing as well as possible or as guh guh guh guh great as Tony the Tiger....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning all
Bright and suny here so looks like it will be a good day, dd has put a wash load on which can be hung out. I came down this mornng to find the shed door wide open we had forgotten to lock it before bed, there is a lot of expensive equipment out there including our two electric bikes so we were lucky its all still there !
Off to get my nails done this morning and as I wont be returning to my cafe I can continue to go (we cant wear nail varnish in the cafe) so I shall choose a nice bold colour !
OH is making his curry tonight as we did not have it the other night so no cooking for me, I shall get the dogs out for a good walk this afternoon. We need to do a tip run at some point too.
Dumpling I am thinking of you and your sister xxx
Have good days all xx11 -
So sorry to hear about your sister Dumpling.
well I have done a bit more housework than usual including cleaning out the kitchen cutlery drawer and changing the bed. Son is popping in shortly so I will ask him to peg out the washing as my back is really suffering despite pain relief. I have asked him to bring back my loader and various gardening tools that he borrowed about a year ago!10 -

Hello all, we've had mostly sunshine all weekend not that I've seen any of it as I've been quite poorly again so spent most of the time in bed in agony. Never mind I feel a bit better today and just had a lovely bubble bath. The news from the oncologist on Friday was pretty good with Mr Fix It's cancer levels dropping by almost half, let's hope they keep low for a while. He's just, as best he could, cleaned the car as the men doing the neighbour's drive had turned it red 😱 They were throwing red dust about like people do at the Holi festival 😂 Meanwhile I have cleaned down the kitchen worktops, emptied the dw and refilled it.Don't know what tea will be today, my Sunday lunch was a piece of soggy toast ( how I like it ) with beans and grated cheese on the top, lovely 🤤Dumpling sorry to read that your sister isn't very good. Please give her a cwtch from me.Hugs to all the poorlies and anyone struggling in daily life.Take care allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

Good afternoon everyone
Thank you all so much for your lovely thoughts and best wishes about my sister. I am still hoping to go and see her this week as long as I am feeling a bit better. My mum chatted to her and then rang me and she was very teary which was hard to see. I told my mum though that we would all have to be strong for my sister while she was so poorly and hopefully in the future she would get her 'tigger bounce' back.
I woke up early and had a burst of energy so I made a keema pie for dinner. I was going to make some soup as well but I ran out of oomph and went back to bed for a bit. Steve cleaned up the kitchen after my messing it up and he never complains, I am so so lucky to have him.
Gers, that was a beautiful picture of sunflowers, you sound like you are having a lovely break xx
Hester, I'm so glad your DD came to see you xx
I cancelled my hairdresser today as I am not feeling well enough so I think I will grow out my hair for a while. It is very very fine though and I yearn for thick, glossy locks. I will colour it before the wedding in December but I am happy to be grey for now.
Hope you all have a lovely day, take care xx11
