Windows 10 Bing hijack - remove search in URL

Hi.
I am sure I cannot be the only one that has (or had issues) with this. Basically when the awful Windows 10 updates it regularly gets Bing to hijack the browser. And even though I have done the basic troubleshooting by going into the browser settings and changing back to my preferred search engine and also deleted bing - the problem persists.
Furthermore the same hijack has moved the internet search to the URL box at the top instead of being on the actual webpage you are on (i.e. - DuckGoGo, Google etc.)
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks.

Useful to know that so somebody can direct you to the relevant settings.
It could be that you have a browser hijack malware rather than this being a Windows 10 problem, download something like Malwarebytes and run a full scan on the system.
I've no problems with any of my browser changing settings when I update Windows.Lostintheclouds said:Basically when the awful Windows 10 .......
If you think Windows 10 is awful then why did you buy it? You do have choices of other operating systems.1 -

Despite my lack of reading skills, I'd still got for the malware check approach first, even more so now it isn't a Microsoft browser that is changing to Bing.1 -

My Firefox remains intact and in the same state it was after any update (major or otherwise) as it was before.Re: the internet search to the address bar, that's been the case in Firefox for ages. You can search Google or whatever your default search is from the address bar, just type it in. You don't need to go to Google for that.If this is not what you're referring to, please post a screenshot.1
