I saw there's a load of Pylontechs due in on the 24th February. I think there may have been a discount for pre-orders.

Any updates on the cheapest battery systems available - current electricity prices mean payback periods may be well below 10 years?
Ultimately I decided that those batteries were too much of a risk and I've ordered a Givenergy 8.2kWh system for a little under £4k.
    Does that include VAT?
  • Dude: where from? You are all talking about battery availability with the seasoned air of old pros while us noobs don't know which website to even look them up on!

Yes, fully inclusive of installation and VAT. Assuming that the battery ever shows up.

If anyone is looking for a cheapish DC-coupled battery, there's a used Growatt SP2000 system complete with 5kWh battery on eBay for £1500 at the moment:
The seller seems to be a solar PV installer & offers support plus a short warranty. I purchased a used inverter from them last year and am happy with it.
