1 Yr fixed EDF finishes end of Sept 21, not sure what to do, not as simple as it sounds.

Hello All
Our 1 Yr fixed deal with EDF ends September 21, and we are looking for new deal. We found out this week that we have sold our house, which is great news, but as we have been told, the legal side will take some time. There is every chance that we may have a gap between moving into one house and another, and may have to move elsewhere.
So with this in mind, what would you suggest we do for now in our current house? We usually go fixed deal, but that would seem daft, as we would be setting ourselves up for exit fees wouldn't we? Are there any alternatives?
Thanks in advance
Joe

go on confused.com and go to energy comparison page. on there you put in your details, and choose which one you want. in your case it doesn't matter too much who you go with, as you are moving, and the new people may want to change supplier any way, so I shouldn't worry too much, for what its worth.
  • Have they told you what the rates would be if you did nothing and just went on to a variable tariff?

Thanks for the help guys. been looking at Tariffs todays. I had a remider set for earlier this week as we had switched in late September early October 2020 onto a 1 year fixed product, and we had, but somehow the product was a December 21 product, I have no idea how. Long story short, we're still on this Tariff till end of year, and thats fine by us, exit fees are small too. It's all sorted out now.
    Thanks again.

I am also about to finish a cheap fixed tariff with EDF and am looking to switch.  I looked at their standard variable rates and they are not any higher than some of the fixes........ however on the EDF site, the tariff they are saying I will just move onto at the end of my fix, the prices per unit on the EDF standard variable rate are I guess todays prices?  And then they will still jump up by the October increase or are EDF showing me the prices with the increases, any idea thanks!
  • Just tried getting into my EDF account to see about changing from them to another or keep with them, however, it seems their system won't allow entry until this afternoon, are they changing their tariffs after the latest Gas issues?
