Always thought of condensation on the outside as spooky.Used to deliver milk to a large Victorian house at the end of a overgrown drive that was prone to this, was glad when I got back on street again when it was dark mornings.

  • It's more likely to happen if you have the curtains drawn overnight (at least, it is with ours). We found it happened fairly often on the lounge windows if we left them closed over night. Now we have an electric curtain rail, which opens the curtains about an hour before we get up, and so never see it now. Always have a bedroom window open, so it never happens there either.

I think it may have something to do with the solvents they used for cleaning the glass when the windows were installed. We had this happening on the sunroom windows in our old house when they were new. It stopped happening over time. We've now got it happening on the new windows here and I'm guessing the same may happen. The installers said the windows never get properly clean until they've had some rain on them.

We have fairly new triple glazing and the windows that have a flat roof about 6 inches below them often mist up. I assume it's the moisture off the flat roof.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Condensation on the inside = bad.
Condie on the outside = good.

Same as car windows - Cold surface and high humidity - Dew settles.

Hello all, I am quite worried about mine too. They were installed last week and look like this today.

What do you think? it's clearing up now.

Is it on the inside or the outside?

As per the rest of this thread, it's perfectly normal!  It shows that your windows are working at keeping the heat inside the house.
