@Slithery and @anselld it states on their website they do a full credit check.  My credit file is good, only thing that isn't good is high utilisation of credit card while I pay it off but otherwise no missed payments etc .
It's the worry they will decide because we're paying off a loan and credit we can't afford it, (we have no worry of being able to afford it)

I know it states that but as far as anyone knows it is not possible as only financial instituations have the ability to do hard searches.  It has been mentioned in threads before and nobody has come back to confirm a hard search so assume they are stretching the truth somewhat for marketing purposes.

Perhaps when the search has been done you can come back here and confirm if it is hard or soft by loading your own report on experian, credit karma, etc.  Nobody previously has come back to confirm either way.
  • Yeh I will check and report back once done.
I'm just trying to judge whether my repayments will stop me renting a house.  It's a huge move and I'm nervous over it all
  • Finally got my email yesterday to complete for credit reference... Let Alliance contacted work for reference today. nothing showing on credit file yet as to whether soft or hard search been done and still don't know if we've passed. Not sure how long it will take to hear or show up.

Not sure whether to assume we're good on the bank statement and credit check front since they has requested employer reference (it's a new job, not had first pay yet) or if they could be seeking employer reference before checking the rest. I've have thought they must be ok with what they have to seek reference but time will tell
  • Update... Credit check now showing on credit file.
Two checks - TransUnion for a "Identity check" and Let Alliance  for "Consumer empowerment (debt management)"
    Both soft searches only.

Still don't know if we actually got the property or not.

As expected, normal soft search by non-financial institution.
Good luck with the final outcome.
  • Yep, pretty much. Very misleading wording on their website.

Thanks, hoping to find out tomorrow since we started referencing on Tuesday.
