Covid backlog = no birth cert = no passport ! help!

Due to covid backlog at our town hall we can't obtain a birth certificate for our newborn until December at the earliest. We need to travel but can't apply for a passport without the birth cert!

Passport office can do emergency passports if a relative is seriously ill, however that does not apply directly here.

I've tried different registrars offices but the cert has to come from the place of birth.

This is causing a huge problem!

You should contact the local registration office and let them know you need the birth certificate for urgent and compassionate reasons as you need a passport to travel urgently.

Just wondered how you got to needing the birth certificate for "urgent and compassionate reasons" from OP's post?
