Amend Name on TR1

Hi,
I am selling my flat and I have recently completed a TR1 form and signed it.
I am selling my flat and I have recently completed a TR1 form and signed it.
Apparently my name on the property title was missing my middle names so my solicitors submitted an application to have this updated. However, on the TR1 they sent this didn’t have the middle names. Will they need to resend this form with the middle names and would we have to sign this again? Or can solicitors manually add the middle names on the form/contract?

Seems strange they've applied to update the register. That's going to cause a delay.....Amending or replacing the TR1 will be a doddle by comparison.0

Is it possible to manually amend the TR1? As I have already signed the TR1 and we are getting the other freeholder to sign the form as well. Can the solicitors manually amend that TR1? Or will they have to re-issue it and we need to sign again?0

If you're selling, then surely just matching the spelling on the TR1 to the spelling on the title would suffice. That's assuming your ID also matches? After all, Land Registry is taking your name off the title in favour of the new purchaser, so updating the title now seems a little bit of a faff.
Solicitors can amend the TR1, but some prefer to issue a new form since this form is submitted to Land Registry and the solicitor may not want a requisition raised over the amended form.0 -
Middle names appear and disappear all the time, it's not a big deal - nobody's likely to suspect you're actually a different person. Just talk to your solicitor, I'm sure they can sort it out themselves.1

@GoogleMeNow I am selling but the TR1 that I signed last week does did not have the middle names. Solicitors have submitted to land registry to update the title to include the middle names prior to the sale. So am wondering if the TR1 I just signed will need to be re signed and if so does it have to be done after the registry update the name? or can it be done before that or does it even need to be done at all and the solicitors can just do it themselves?0

With or without middle names, I don’t think the Land Registry mind. So just go with the TR1 form that everyone has already signed (sounds like the TR1 without middle names).

But would that be acceptable? if they are about to update the current title to include my middle names.0

I did answer your query, but in simple terms does your ID, the signed TR1 and the name on the title currently match?
It sounds as if you are saying that the title doesn't have middle names and the signed TR1 doesn't have middle names, but your solicitor now wants the title changed to include middle names. Does your ID show middle names or not? They all need to match.
It will be up to the buyer's solicitor if they will accept a hand-amended TR1. They may insist on a new one being signed, because it is a legal form which has to be submitted to HM Land Registry when they apply to register the new owner of the property after completion. The signed TR1 (whether hand-amended or a new one) will need to be in place on the file before exchange.
