Edf
Hi,
I’ve been with the above company for a few years. This year Feb time I received a bill of £1000, I contacted them and said this cannot be this amount. I was also getting voicemail messages asking me to ring a certain number to do with my smart meter not communicating. I trust nobody so tried using the WhatsApp service several times to see if it was edf contacting me. They didn’t think so. I’m very careful with electric and gas and I also have solar panels. Anyway I finally managed to speak to somebody in June. He said that he would look into it and refer it on to the smart meter dept and I would hear within a month or so. Well I didn’t and 2 weeks ago I checked my online banking and instead of taking £64 in direct debit they took £195 without my knowledge leaving me with no money!! I used the messaging service and they put in a refund referral and said it would be in in 5 working days, which it wasn’t. So I rang the bank and explained to them and there were able to refund it into my account. A few days after that edf had requested the money back again leaving me with no money. I rang them enraged and spoke to someone who was able to manually request a refund and said it would take 3 to 5 working days. I checked my account today and they have only refunded me £64 not £131 I was expecting. Apparently my smart meters haven’t been sending readings since Dec 2019 I haven’t been asked to send meter readings either as far as I was aware they were working fine. I want to change companies can I do this even though they think I owe all this money?
