One year wait for application of revoked licence

Wondering if anyone else has been in or is In the same situation as me.
I qualified to re-apply for my licence 18 months ago after Informing them of a psychiatric condition for which I had to go into hospital for. They set out 10 criteria for me to fulfill before re-applying after they revoked my license. I fulfilled all of these criteria and re-applied just over 14 months ago. They sent my GP and psychiatrist a form for them to return and I sent a fifty-pound cheque and a D1 form. My GP sent the completed form back via recorded delivery as I did with my D1 and cheque. I noticed the cheque was cashed within 1 week of receipt. I waited a number of weeks and after a week trying to speak to someone from the DVLA owing to crammed phone lines, I got through. They told me they had not received either my D1 or the medical questionnaire from my GP. I explained they were sent via recorded and told them who received them at the DLA, the time, and by whom. Their answer was just, We do not have them. I mentioned that they had cashed my cheque which was with the D1 form. "we do not have them" end of. They were sent again and eventually I was told they have all the relevant information. I have called a number of times but am given different information each time. I have been told my application is with a manager and being looked at. Another couple of times I am told that my application is in a pile and they will get around to looking at it when they can. No timescales. Other times I need to be more patient. The last time I called I was told that as the application is over a year old I will need to start the entire process off from the start as my original application is out of date yet I have no correspondence from the DVLA telling me this. I am completely stuck and completely in the dark. I desperately need transport for work opportunities and many other things. Right at the start I was told I would have to wait no longer than 6 weeks.

Are there any support services familiar with the medical condition(s) that you have?

There are some circumstances where you can drive while waiting for your licence.  Though, I note you used the term "revoked" and I think that is one of the cases where driving while you wait for the licence is not permitted.

It is worth checking the exact situation and the precise circumstances of no longer having a licence if you are using "revoked" in a colloquial manner.

DVLA are not a fast organisation to deal with post at the best of times.
They built up massive backlogs through the lockdowns, made worse by the industrial action their staff have taken over the covid precautions in the office.

Yes I have heard this too. The mess that they have gotten themselves into is also affecting HGV drivers and contributing to a nationwide distribution network crisis for entire shopping chains and fast food outlets. This coupled with the complication of Brexit are leaving high street shop shelves worryingly sparse.  I know of a taxi driver who presently cannot work owing to these DVLA delays. The DVLA is a crucial part of the UK civil service which falls under the control of the Government. I have not heard of any action to get this huge department under control. Thanks AdrianC

No, the truck thing is ENTIRELY down to brokeit. The people who used to drive the trucks are not in this country any more, because they've taken the hint after five years of being told they aren't welcome here.

Driving tests for new truck drivers are not DVLA, but DVSA - a separate agency.
