2nd class with proof of posting delivery confirmation does it exist ?

I seem to remember a past post on here.... that a type of delivery confirmation was possible to get when using RM 2nd and 1st class small package when you have a proof of posting receipt .
ie. confirmation the 2nd class small parcel has been delivered ?
I could be wrong or mixed up on this .
If so that means the only delivery confirmation is if the buyer leaves feedback or not ?

On the proof of posting receipt from the PO there is a reference number of 16 digits eg something like:0222-222B-011C-7BBBYou can put this into RM's track and trace where it should show delivery in due course. You don't need to pay extra for signed for unless it is worth up to £50. Normal post covers up to £20

I wasn't aware of that martindow. I thought only Royal Mail signed for would show on track and trace
I currently have a case open against me for an item not received. After typing in the code from the posting receipt it is saying the item was delivered on 9 September. Is this likely to win me the case.0 -

Thanks for the reply
My PO,s Horizon certificate of posting for Std 2nd class small parcel at £3.20p doesnt have a 16 digit number on mIne.
Perhaps because I stuck my own £3.21 of stamps on the small parcel I havent got the proof of posting receipt or I failed to request it so they never printed a POP.......must be one or the other ?
You must only get the proof of posting receipt when you purchase full or part of the postage ? .

POP is automatically included on your receipt when you pay, but I think you can ask for one to be printed even if you have used your own stamps. There was a thread a few weeks ago where someone had paid partly by sticking on their own stamps and then buying a few pennyworth at the PO to get a receipt.

You would think they would give you one with your own stamps or otherwise ?
I should have asked but thought I had been givern one .
Its also probably my local PO the woman are the best the men have a personal service agenda which is similar to a cow milking shed .0 -
You can get PoP if you've used your own stamps but it won't have the reference number because there's nothing on the parcel to scan. You have to have a Horizon label (even if it's for the last few pennies' worth of postage).1

At the moment it's costing only 30p for them to collect from your home. It's normally around 70p but I think it's worth it.

I'm in the vulnerable category so during covid I've been using this service a lot, even for birthday cards. I don't even have to hand my letters, cards or packages to anyone, I leave things outside in a container on top of my blue bin.
Touch wood and so far, I've had no problems.
After they've picked up my mail, I receive an email so that's proof that they've actually collected it. You can also do track and trace and then they email when they've delivered it too. So there are no arguments. All the normal services are available to use online.
All you need at home is some small weighing scales (I use our kitchen ones) and a printer. And sellotape etc but you need those when you go to the PO yourself anyway.
I think it's wonderful and hope RM continues to offer the service.
