Why are Pokerstars doing credit checks on me?

I have never done any online gambling, except for the national lottery.
In the last year Pokerstars have done two "ID Check To Comply With ML Regs" searches that show up on Equifax.
This makes me worried someone is spoofing my details for online gambling, which could affect my credit rating.
What should I do?

Although any change to your credit files will change the CRA rating, tt doesn't matter as no account will appear on your credit files and the search is a soft one.
But if you believe someone may have applied for gambling accounts in your name, you could send them a SAR to see what they hold in your name.0 -
I would contact Pokerstars. Someone signed up for an account there under my name. There seems to be a fairly organised scam with online poker sites where you sign up fake accounts and use them to rig hands in some way. I have no idea how it actually works but when I contacted Pokerstars they deleted the account in my name.0

https://www.starsgroup.com/ Also mentions https://www.flutter.com/our-business/our-divisions
This info may be useful for others. I noticed a similar search and was concerned. On seeing the list of brands in their portfolio I’m satisfied that the search was legitimate.0
