Hello - Turkey is the red list & as far as I know it’s been the red list since the traffic lights were introduced.

TUI are selling holidays to Turkey, if I booked a holiday to Turkey & it was still on the red list next June, would I have to go & quarantine or lose my holiday money? Because it’s red when it was booked is my thinking.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF A COUNTRY IS ON THE UK TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM’S RED LIST?

We’re not travelling to any countries on the red list. If the destination you’re due to travel to is on the red list, we’ll cancel your holiday and give you the option to change your booking fee-free to another destination or date or request a full refund.

I have seen that, but I’m not sure it’s exactly the same example.
It feels different if it happens after booking, booking it now, it’s knowingly booking a red zone holiday.
  • It says that they  are not travelling to countries on the Red list - so no they won’t take you to a country on the Red list - it will be cancelled with the option to re-book or refund .

TUI were selling holidays to Turkey for September 2021 as late as July 2021.

But the UK GOV announcements didn't go their way and the holidUs didn't go ahead. Holidays were cancelled and people refunded.

Turkey is rumoured to be coming off the red list in tonight's expected announcement.

It's off and I'm off there in October   :D
  • Turkey would be an absolutely AWFUL destination for any tourist hoping for a nice holiday at the moment.

    The restrictions are very draconian.
