Artificial grass nightmare

Last summer we contacted a company to supply and fit artificial turf to our back garden. They completed the work but the next day there was a ridge in the grass and the next week areas of the garden began to settle, leaving it very uneven and the grass was marked with lines through it. They came back to look and agreed that there was an issue with the groundwork and that it looked like the grass was faulty. We could then see that that the grass that had been fitted was not what we had originally agreed to. They took a small piece of the sample to check it. Over the next few weeks I made many calls to the company asking for updates . They told me that the grass we had been shown had been made on a small scale and when it went into full production the finish was different, with the lines being identified as manufacturing faults. We were unhappy about this ,however agreed that they should send out samples of the new grass. No samples were received. No invoice was paid. We have had no communication at all for almost 13 months. This week when we received an email addressing the issue with the grass and how a new type was being manufactured and how they would have new samples before the end of the year . They have also offered to change to an existing grass that they supply ( we have already declined this as it wasn't one we wanted originally) wait for these new products, but having looked at the website one that is detailed is not suitable for us ( we have dogs) or to receive a discount keeping the existing grass. The issues of the groundwork have not been addressed. We have lost all confidence in the company and quite honestly dont want to deal with them as the director has been quite heavy handed in his wording in emails to us . Whilst we are wanting the grass and groundwork to be made fit for purpose we feel that the warranties they give with fitting are not worth the paper they are written on . Yes if we had paid we would obviously chased them fairly aggressively but we feel that even if the grass is made right and we pay should we have any issues ( the original ones began 1 day after installation) they would not be keen to rectify. Where do we stand with this?

Do you have home insurance, and if so, do you have legal expenses cover. If do, give the Legal Helpline a call and see what they recommend. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1
