PFP energy gone bust whilst bills are in dispute

Hello all.
Long story short, I have transferred my utility supply to PFP Energy in Jauary this year.
They
have made up an absolutely out of blue sky Gas meter read which has put
my account in to debt by several hundred pounds. They called it an
industry read whatever that may mean
They
have dragged their feet for half a year without getting it resolved. I
have thake them to the Ombudsman this July and now the Ombudsman has
written to me saying the complaint is closed as PFP are out of business.
Any idea what will happen now? There is a debt of £785 showing on my PFP account a large portion of which I believe is made up.
I
have cancelled the direct debit a couple of day ago as I don't want to
be transferring any money to the firm in administration and I am not a
customer odf which (was transferred to British Gas a few days ago)until
my billing issue is fully resolvded.
But now my bill on their portal is showing as overdue...
I am also afraid of them damaging my credit history.

Did you submit regular meter readings?

BG will invite you to submit a meter read to start your account with them. That same reading will be used to close your PfP account.Mishomeister said:Hello all.Long story short, I have transferred my utility supply to PFP Energy in Jauary this year. They have made up an absolutely out of blue sky Gas meter read which has put my account in to debt by several hundred pounds. So what has happened in between is now largely irrelevant.

It doesn’t follow that the SoLR will just accept the meter reading that it is given. It will go through the normal industry validation process which MAY take into account the estimated reading produced by PfP. If the industry-validated reading is outside of the industry norm (250M3s) then the SoLR can be requested to open an Agreed Readings Dispute with the Administrator of the old supplier. There must be a process for this discussion to take place even though the old supplier is no longer subject to Ofgem regulation. That said, if the switch reading is higher than the meter index reading and the SoLR is prepared to use it to the open the account then I would not necessarily cry foul. The SoLR can only charge the daily standing charge until the meter index reading passes the agreed switch (opening/closing) reading.0

Another thought. Has a mistake between an imperial and metric meter been made?I was able to submit a meter reading to PfP after they ceased trading. I suggest reading the meter and photographing it and then submitting the reading. Another possibility is that if it is a Secure brand smart meter, the default reading is in kWh, you nned to press 9 to get a cubic metre reading.0

Agreed. But that dispute can then be taken up with BG. if/when it happensDolor said:It doesn’t follow that the SoLR will just accept the meter reading that it is given....
It is not necessary for the OP to know the technicalities of how BG go about resolving the dispute.

This is a case of a disputed meter read. What units the meter reads is probably irrelevent at this point.Verdigris said:Another thought. Has a mistake between an imperial and metric meter been made?...
