Want to change address on licence, but unsure of log book + other details?

I live in England, my car is in Northern Ireland. The log book + insurance is registered to the NI address, I leave it there to drive when I visit and use my partners car in England ad hoc.

I'm planning on updating my licence address to England, but have seen I will also need to update the log book. My car is only drove when I'm in NI (or occasionally by my family, parked at a family home). Do I need to update my licence + log book + insurance?

Licence and V5C need to be at an address where you can be quickly and reliably contacted.
Insurance need to know where the car is kept routinely.

It's all the same country, no issues moving addresses between different parts of the UK. NI used to have a separate vehicle or licence registry, but it closed seven years ago.

The car simply needs to be registered at an address where you can be contacted**. If the NI address ticks that box, no need to change the log book.

As for insurance, probably best to speak to them.

** unless the law is different in NI.
