Opinions On Ideal Vogue Max 40 Boiler?

We are about to embark on a major renovation of a large 1920s family
house (@ourhousemadeperfect) and have looked at replacing the old boiler
with a Vaillant or Worcester. However, we have been recommended an
Ideal Vogue Max 40 due to it having a 12 year warranty. Has anyone any
experience of these boilers and would they recommend?

There Ok
Who is recommending this boiler to you? Is that gas boiler suitable for all your hot water & space heating needs?

There is some positive feedback here: Ideal Heating Vogue Max Combi 40 Gas Combi Boiler | Boilers | Screwfix.comThe comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

I had one of these installed when I moved to my new house last year - it was the first time I have had a Combi boiler. I have had no issues with it at all.
I downsized, moving from a boiler/immersion heater with an airing cupboard set up. Having only one shower available at a time (with maybe the washing up being done downstairs) I was comfy with but if I'd have had my old large 1920's home this boiler wouldn't have been suitable as too many showers/baths could be drawn at the same time and apparently it impacts on the availability of hot water.
I also miss my airing cupboard too0 -

I had been considering Worcester Bosch and Vaillant too, but a friend in the trade suggested looking at Ideal as they're cheaper and just as good with a similar warranty. The warranty does specifically say it does not apply to various things, including "To de-scaling or other work required as a result of hard water scale deposits or from damage caused by aggressive water or sludge resulting from corrosion." However, all warranties seem to have similar get-out clauses in them. The boiler must be serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer, but again they all say that.It is doing the job well, but it is too early to say how reliable it will be.

Many installers only install one brand of gas boiler, something to do with loyalty schemes i believe.
connect is ideals loyalty scheme, reviews https://tooltalk.com/product/ideal-installer-connectChoose Stabila !1 -
Has it been explained why you need a 40kw boiler?0

I had one installed recently and I take back my reservations about combis. The water pressure is amazing, the downside is you have to drag me out of the shower.
My (very experienced) builder / carpenter / plumber has also just had one installed in his home - after mine went in - which speaks volumes. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0
