Advice on burglar alarms

Hi all,
Looking for some recommendations advice on burglar alarms. Ive spoken to various companies and they all seems to have pros and cons. I'm likely to sign up with the full package from Verisure (8 magnetic door/ window sensors/ 2 x cctv cameras 2 x motion sensors and a raft of other stuff I don't really need such as a smoke cloak) all of which is externally monitored. Their security system seems very comprehensive (if not a little on the pricy side) i just wondered if anyone on here had any experiences with them or others that could recommend. I've checked Trustpilot etc but looking for some other views is all. Thanks in advance. Admin please remove if this is not allowed/ in the wrong place.

The flaw with most alarms is their link to the outside world. If it's going through your internet connection / phone line, a smart thief will just cut your line before entering.
If you want a monitored system, it ideally needs a gsm backup to fail over to should the phone line be disconnected.
I think alarms are a waste of money these days - nobody takes any notice of an alarm going off.
I'd invest in preventing someone getting into your house rather than catching them once they're in. Good locks, decent external lighting etc. Maybe get some security camera's if you think you need them. I use arlo which are quite expensive but have a good geofencing feature.

Don't bother factoring in a police response - it won't happen.
