I can't find an Independent Furniture Inspector in Scotland!

Hello,

My sister recently paid nearly £5000 for a Riser Recliner Chair from Mobility Furniture Company. She chose them because they offered a made to measure service.
However, when the chair arrived it was the wrong size for my sister. The company is not excepting any responsibility for this.

I need to get an independent furniture inspector to look at the chair and give us a personal detailed report. I can't find one in Scotland.
Can anyone help with this?

Have you used the company's complaints service

  • Thank you for your comments sheramber and the information you have taken the trouble to post.
Yes, I have exhausted the company's complaint procedure. I have also used the Furniture Ombudsman who advised getting our own independent furniture inspector because we do not have enough evidence for them to proceed.

Does that suggest any claim is likely to fail ??
Key here is who ordered and what measurements used .
What is an inspection required for ?

PS i paid £600 for riser recliner chair and many at that price point .

I think you won't find an 'Independent Furniture Inspector' because it doesn't seem like a job title that anyone actually has.  What you might do better at finding is someone independent in the furniture business to inspect the chair. Perhaps a local mobility shop?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Or even a local upholster who knows what you require .
