I’ve just used the same paint in our garden fence. Went through a good bit of the tub painting a few panels. Used a roller for the rest and it seemed to make the paint last a little longer.
Sure someone has a reason NOT to use a roller but it for the job done in a fraction of the time and looks exactly how I thought it would!0 -
9L covers up to 54m² or 17 fence panels (1 coat).Firstly are you doing both sides of the panels? The area of coverage given looks like they are only allowing for one side of each panel (or smaller panels). So the 3 panels done both sides is the equivalent of 6 panel sides coated and if that took half the tin a total of 12 sides can be expected in total. Secondly, of course 'up to' - not 'at least' and getting 12/17, about 2/3, the maximum coverage for a first coat doesn't sound implausible to me.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

nope - one side only - the neighbours deal with their own side - they use a thick brown treacle type stuff - no idea what it is

I've used a roller and it's absolutely fine. MIght be a bit thinner than round the edges where its thrown on with a brush, but two coats generally sorts that out.ac19 said:I’ve just used the same paint in our garden fence. Creosote was banned back in the early 2000's I think, these days you can buy a similar product under the name Creocote which has all the nasty stuff removed.
IMO it's a great product, oil based and easy to apply, think I use about sixteen litres to cover 16 x 6ft fence panels though I do tend to slap it on. Bit limited in the colour range (think they're all variations of brown) and the smell is quite distinctive.1 -
It's only banned to the general public. People in the building trade and farmers can still get it.0

Do trades have some kind of superhuman resistance to carcinogens or is specific PPE required?stuart45 said:It's only banned to the general public. People in the building trade and farmers can still get it.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
