Sainsbury's Energy

Last week, after reading the MSE Money Tip's email, I tried to switch energy provider. It turn's out that Sainsbury's Energy doesn't take new customers. I got a quote online with them and their website wouldn't let me switch so I phoned their customer service.
A young girl answered and was extremely unhelpful, but did tell me they've been taken over by E.ON Next. I did a comparison with E.ON Next and the annual cost was identical to the 2 Year fixed, Sainsbury's quote, so I switch to them on the 24th September!
I can understand why MSE is quoting Sainsbury's because they don't actually try and switch supplier, but if anyone has the same problem I did, try E.ON Next.

  • I believe you have to switch via the Sainsburys energy website not MSE. I did that last night and its now going through the switch process.
Sainsburys is a better deal as you get Nectar points - £60 worth if you switch both electric & gas. You also get triple points when shopping in Sainsburys
  • I started the switch to Sainsbury's last Tuesday using Sainsbury's website, so far everything seems to be going well.

  • yeah I switched to sainsburys on their website yesterday too - identical to Eon 2yr fix but with added nectar points
