gardeners turned up yesterday and despite the rain managed to do a massive amount of hedge cutting and shrub tidying. It all looks so much better now. I am waiting in for a chap this morning to fit a couple more grab rails and possibly repair the step down the garden from the conservatory. Have been given some wool and pattern to knit a “twiddle” muff so will get on with that.8

Morning, hugs if you need one.
It rained all day yesterday 3/4" in the rain guage, its very dull and damp this morning.
Chap has been from the council to check the Japanese knotweed we found last week, he confirmed thats what it is and is arranging to get it seen to. Thanks to us having it previously we knew what it looked like, the red stems are a giveaway. The chap was telling us last week they went to a house and half the garden was infested with it. The chap living there had been strimming it down and putting it in bags in his green bin. Contractors take the bags and compost it which is then sold.......heaven knows how many properties it may have infected.
Coffee at the little chapel this morning. I want to put the wardrobe in our bedroom on the internet, if it does not sell I will get B to collect it, he has links to a charity shop that sell stuff to fund housing for the homeless.
I found meat balls in the freezer, so will do them in tomato sauce with some pasta tonight. More of the raspberry jelly for dessert.7

Morning all, sunny! Went through the shelves on one side yesterday to look at OOD food and decide whether or not to keep it. Got rid of some biscuits and two lots of pasta sauce, these I didn't buy but didn't trust, so down the sink they went. I was due to pick up OH for a dentist appointment but because I was cleaning missed 7 phone calls from him, obviously to say he was being let out early, so when I did notice, I jumped in the car and off I went, nearly got sideswiped by an Audi driver who decided two lanes was possible on a one lane roundabout so much blaring of my horn and shouting things at them from me. Caught up with OH halfway to his work, he'd started walking and good job too because yet more blummin roadworks had sprung up and traffic was at a standstill. He gets to his appointment, comes home, wisdom tooth removal, wouldn;t stop bleeding, so I phoned the dentist back, back he goes for them to try and stop it, comes home, all OK for a bit, then starts bleeding again. He shoved a bit of wadding with something that looks like iodine on in and thankfully it stops bleeding again. He's better today though, it's just oozing a bit, dentist has already been on the phone to check, so I'm pleased about that.So today there had better not be any heart racing stuff going on, I'm getting too anxious after small shock things happening....Anyway, more decluttering, paper sorting and list a couple of things to sell today...I made sausages and lentils last night so food done for today. OH will probably be on porridge or ice cream.Welcome back Ruby, I hope your work will try to accomodate you properly. Gers, good news on the hearing aids. Scarlet, hold off on the summer clothing sorting, we might have an Indian summer...WL, nice photo, whenever I think of Morris dancers I think of Terry Pratchett and the Dark Morris. Some people actually went to a book signing or talk he was doing and did that for him, very cool. Csarina, glad you're getting your knotweed sorted, it's a nightmare. I remember it being all along the line where I used to go for walks and us using it like peashooters. I throw fairy dust or something with more alcohol to anyone who needs it...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Morning all, didn't have a very good night as the anti b's had a bit of a tussle with the curry I had for yesterday's tea, shame as I'd been fancying one all week but I'd wish I'd waited a bit longer to indulge 🤢The sun was shining this morning so I put a load in the wm and then the mist rolled in, I'm hoping it will burn off, reminds me of the Keats poem " Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" which is one of my favs. At present I'm waiting for an Iceland delivery but there are several OOS's and some items have been subbed. I still want to give them my custom now and again so I'm not going to moan as the delivery comes from a relatively small shop "up town" and they did us proud when it was impossible to get a delivery slot with any of the big 4. I did notice that the 4 roll toilet roll packs were missing in our nearest Te*co yesterday however I'm not afraid to go in there now if I have to, but I'll go early in the morning.Hope everyone has a good day, take care all, hugs to anyone in need.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

            Morning all,
Lovely to read all your news. Thinking of those who are struggling/worried.
Your holiday sounded lovely RR, I hope your work discussion goes better than anticipated.I have been up since 5am, was doing bible study for 3 hours which was fun, now on my back cushion and waiting for the online grocery delivery. I have noticed that prices have definitely shot up.
Other plans for today are to arrange details for mum’s homecoming. It is going to be expensive, two carers needed four times daily, but it will be nice for her to be at home.OS for today? I need to use up some bananas so will make a cake.Shopping has arrived.

Man from the blind company has been and gone. I've ordered two electrical motorised blinds and one motorised solar powered one all with remote controls and an app to set times. They'll take about three weeks so I'll be ready for winter. I gave him a couple of DM's paintings for his new house so that's less to worry about. In the midst of it all my new duvet arrived so I need to open that to air before using. Not had breakfast or a drink yet so that's next on the agenda.I've sent through my meter reading, done one small white wash and one wool one and cancelled my hair appointment for Friday. The hairdresser cuts it too short and it's only now getting to where I like it so it can wait for another four weeks I reckon.Taff - I hope you're doing OK today.Ruby - thanks for the update from Marie, it's good to know that she's on the mend, please pass on my love to her.Scarlet - the memory of those snake elastic belts took me right back to my childhood. I don't think I had one but my brother certainly did. It's funny how some small things just jerk us into a form of time travel!TA - I'm glad that you enjoyed your outing.Camelot - 💕Welcome to Sunflow3r -Now I need sustenance.

            Good afternoon everyone
It was very foggy this morning but it has burnt off now and we have lovely sunshine. My tummy officially hates me so I was up several times in the night. I'm feeling a bit better now so I have just made some parsnip soup for lunch. Steve is cooking tonight and we are going to have toad in the hole with mash and cabbage so I will certainly be getting my 5 a day today . .
Lee and Phoebe have gone off ok this morning to college and work respectively. I am going to watch some rubbish tv while knitting my second elf. It's hopefully going to be a quiet afternoon and I will probably grab a nana nap later as well.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx8

            Good afternoon
Lovely sunny day, got a load of towels on the line then spent the morning dismantling an old shed and taking it up the tip😅.
Just waiting for my Mother to arrive then I'll make us lunch and then we are going to paint the new shed👩🎨
Didn't get around to sorting my clothes yesterday and don't suppose it will get done today either so it will remain on the to do list😁
Hugs to all that need them🤗 x10

Been to help at the friendship and lunch club at The SA. Mr F was at the door again this week taking temperatures. I was on tea duty.
When it was lunch time - I was serving the veggies - only 2 of us serving so 1 dishing up roast potatoes & pork and I was on cabbage & carrots + gravy. We feed everyone then have our meal. I was serving up the apple strudel and custard and then doing teas and coffees so very busy. Pleased that all the cakes I made were given away.
 We are home for a break and then going back to give a hand with finance.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

            Hi everyone
Just had a catch-up. Work today and then DD gave me a lift over to the dentist for a 2 minute appointment!
I really wanted an elastic snake belt when I was a little girl as my brothers had them - they were only for boys though - at least in my house!7
