Selling - neighbours no dispute

Hi
After a bit of advice, have sold my property and the buyer has asked if my neighbours have any bearing on my reason to move out?
No there are not the reason for me to move out, just want something bigger out in rural area and there no disputes or anything like that with any neighbours but one of them can be a bit funny personally everyone in the street ignores her but she is well know - do I need to disclose this? I mean like I said I don’t really talk to her and she does not talk to me - do I just say no? Short and sweet Or explain the reason for moving out? Leave the quirks of my neighbour out? Thank you for any advise I don’t have a solicitor only a conveyancer who is not much help

  • If you have had no disputes with your neighbour then the answer to the question is 'No'.
Don't over complicate things. Best of luck with your sale.
  • Thank you so much
i mean she is well know around the town I live for her eccentricity but you are right she is not reason just worried buyer won’t find her acceptable and will query why not disclosed?
  • Your buyer is responsible for doing their own due diligence on purchasing  your property. The fact that your neighbour is described as eccentric is not your responsibility to disclose unless you have been in dispute with her. You have said you had not been in dispute with this neighbour so answer 'No'.

  • If you don't have a dispute with your neighbours, i can't see why your struggling with this question.

  • Is it the question in the TR forms that you're struggling with; or has this been raised as an enquiry by your buyer?

If the latter, has your solicitor given you any advice on how to answer?
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • "I have a troublesome and quirky neighbour who everyone in the street has difficulty with. "
You'll never sell your property. And for no good reason.
Keep it simple and short. Whyyou are moving is noneof the buyers business unless it involves a genuine dispute.

    The correct answer is 'No'.
  • Is it the question in the TR forms that you're struggling with; or has this been raised as an enquiry by your buyer?

If the latter, has your solicitor given you any advice on how to answer?
The buyer raised the question and I suspect that buyer has visited and met said neighbour or as I said neighbour is known
unfortunately is not a solicitor handling sale but a conveyancer
thanks for taking the time to give advice 🙂
  • There's no way you can predict how the eventual buyer of your house and the eccentric neighbour (or any neighbour) will interact.  The question is just about disputes so only answer that question and don't volunteer any other info or opinion.
You sound like a seller who is conscientious and trying to "do the right thing" and I hope you find your dream home in the country.  The "dispute" question is really looking for complaints made to the police or council.
