Green.energy keep asking for meter readings when we have a smart meter. We had it fitted with SO Energy but changed to Green via your Cheap Energy Club Comparison a couple of months later. We thought we wouldn't need to give meter readings now and to be honest the meters are situated under the stairs which are difficult to get to as we are in our 70s with the gas one only three inches from the ground with no meter to reading on it (not that we laid down on the floor to see). We can just about read the electric one!. If we still have to give meter readings, what was the point of changing? I tried phoning Green.Energy but was 40th in the queue so gave up.

Is Green able to accept smart meter readings into its billing system? Not all energy suppliers have developed or paid for the secure piece of software (an Adapter) that allows them to pull readings from your smart meter.1

Use your In-House Display Unit - if on it will pick up the meter readings. I switch it on once a month to send readings to my utility provider. If not sure how I am sure googling it will provide the answer.2

Green pull my smart meter readings for gas and electric through with no issues. Started the day they became the supplier. Readings can be found within the online account - but I still get the emails telling me to submit a reading.

I am leaving them now for Sainsbury, I wonder if it will work with them
