    No, it is not new. It has been there since the start of the CEC - a lot longer than last year
    (the FAQ link maybe new)
    The rate of cashback did change once many years ago

    You know how the CEC site is funded? And where the cashback comes from?
    Why would MSE (or any other comparison site) go to the time and trouble of switching you and not get paid? They don't. But not all comparison sites are generous enough to share that payment they receive with you in the form of cashback.
