It won’t affect the redundancy payment. It will affect notice pay, because you will only be able to claim for weeks where you earned nothing, or less than the notice pay would have been.1

Thanks for your reply, so I left on Friday and was at the company 5 years so will get 5 weeks statutory plus holidays and a weeks notice pay and can also start my new job Monday sorry iv never been made redundant before but the company is not been very forthcoming either with info as they do not really know themselves, and when I say start a new job I mean setting up my own company would this make a difference? Any advice would be appreciated thankyou.0

One thing my old boss did say is that if you earn within the first two weeks of been made redundant basically the NI fund will not pay up as you have not lost anything don’t want to lose the bit of money I am getting because i will need the payment to help get the company off the ground0

I’m not aware of this two week rule. Your employment has ended and the role is redundant, when you start a new job doesn’t change that. Notice might still be payable if you don’t earn while starting your business, or earn less than previous role. Why not call the insolvency service and ask them?0

Thanks apparently the insolvency agency aren’t been brought in until Friday then hopefully will find out more, there been very vague with everything, they made out if we earn before the cases was filed then it’s tough luck you haven’t missed any earnings so don’t need to pay any money for the years iv been there etc I don’t really understand it all but would be nice for them to say your 5 years statutory is safe etc0

If you ring ACAS they will be able to advise you. If you were given notice of redundancy and your employment was terminated on Friday then you should be eligible for the redundancy payment.0
