G Mail. Deleted G Mails Do Not Go Into The Bin. Why?

I have 2 Android tablets and  on 1 of  them deleted Gmail's bypass the bin.

I have tried changing various settings but deleted mail just disappears never to be seen again.

  • Are you actually deleting or archiving?
  • Are you actually deleting or archiving?
this. if you simply swipe away the email to the left/right, it actually only archives them.

I have, confirm before deleting, archiving and sending.

Delete and archive swiping   are deactivated.

Should  "all inboxes" ,  "inbox"  and   "bin"  be picture images on all devices.

What do you mean by "picture images"?

So what tablets are they for starters, saying "Android tablets" is the same as when someone asks you what model of car you drive saying "petrol car". What version of Android are you running? When you "delete" the emails what action does Gmail say has been completed (eg. moved to bin) and does the undo option pop up on the bottom of the screen?

Gmail emails should be kept on Google's servers (even if you use a PC and an email program like Outlook which downloads them to a local file). Therefore if you look at Gmail on any Android device all the emails should be there. If you download to a PC or otherwise archive emails using the Android app (e.g. by reading them) then they move to the All Mail folder - so they're still on the server but now in a different folder. If you delete an email (via the Android app) then it should move it to the Bin rather than deleting immediately - the Bin gets emptied of any item older than 30 days on a rolling daily basis.

The above is what should happen, and whichever tablet you view Gmail on should present the same results - i.e. they should be synchronised (picture images) because they're both looking at the same Google server.

Thank you @Jenni_D  for the most helpful post that confirms many Gmail features.

My newest, Samsung tablet's Bin contains a total of only 2 emails, neither are in the older device's Bin.

The older., also a Samsung, tablet's Bin contains 6 emails

I still have to check out the big gamer W10 rig.

Synchronisation, (picture / mirror  image) appears to be failing.

How do I check or adjust the Synchronisation?
