I’m looking for a way of automatically tracking my spend without having to remember to type what I’ve spent into an app. Needs to be accessible to me and the wife. Any suggestions?

What bank are you with - Lloyds for example has a free 'Money Manager' service which automatically categorises your spending (and you can allocate it appropriately). This gives you a good overview on what you're spending on food, entertainment, etc.
I believe a few banks have similar services - who are you with?Know what you don't0 -

The best way I've found is to have 1 account for wages coming in, 1 account for bills which a standing order from wages account transfer the correct amount for all bills automatically. Then 1 account for spending which can be something like Starling/Monzo (Joint Account if you want) then you get instant notification of spending and can easily see where you money is being spent.0
