Spellchecker required for Firefox

MacAfee is standing in the way of the Firefox add-on for spell check, despite several attempts. Can anyone advise me of a way to gain a spell checker please?

    So you need to sort out McAfee if it is blocking the download. Have you allowed https://addons.mozilla.org ?

    It should already be there if you check Options in Tools, then Advanced and tick the box marked "check my spelling as I type".

    Hi, hello, E/lass. you wouldn't believe how my head is spinning, apart from all this my daughter (bless her cotton socks) has bought a laptop on line as she aims to take it to the Falklands at Xmas and would dad take delivery of it set it up, install etc..............who me? gods gift to technology!

    I've just been through the Options and yes, it was ticked, hence the red line under miss-spelt words. What I need now is the facility to advise me of the CORRECT spelling as words like acknowledge etc. often fail me

    Right click the incorrect spelling (underlined in red) for the correct spelling options :)

    That was interesting E/Lass, I haven't been there before. One thing I really like is the Comic Sans typeface and frequently use it. Your directions led me to put it in place permanently, thanks.

    There was a Tab feature. As yet, I don't think I want that scrolling along the top. If I'm right, it only acts as another medium for returning to previous site visited which the back button does anyway. Is this right?

    [FONT=&quot]For what it is worth and maybe a bit obvious. I have never got on too well with Firefox Spellcheck it always seems a bit unwieldy. So I do all my important typing in Msword and copy paste it to Firefox in one lump. As I did this![/FONT]
