Transfer of Equity Problems

Morning

I recently left my property that my ex partner is taking ownership of with a transfer of equity in exchange for an agreed sum of money. I was advised this was happening on Thursday, this didn't happen, I was then told Friday and again hasn't happened.

I haven't received my payout and the mortgage I am still named on therefore assume I'm still registered with land registry as an owner.

I have asked my solicitor to try and get an update as my ex's property lawyer wont communicate with me now. I'm due to complete on my ongoing purchase on Friday but obviously can't do this until the land registry and money issues are sorted.

Also to note I'm now homeless with no access to my property and 2 children.

Does anyone have any experience of what might have happened or why this might have occured? Obviously have my solicitor on it now but I'm going out of my mind with worry :(

Thanks x

I'm assuming TR1 has been signed and completion has happened then?

Really you should be bombarding his solicitor for the funds - why do you have a solicitor out of interest?

TR1 has been signed, I was told I would receive an email once completion had occurred on Friday, which I didn't. My mortgage account is still open as it always has been too. So presumably completion hasn't happened.

His solicitor won't reply to me now which is why I've asked my solicitor to get involved. His property lawyer would only respond to me to confirm completion date, and advised anything further would need to be done through solicitors. I did have someone in place previously as we also have a Separation Agreement in place, so have just asked him to follow up for me.

Have you been asked for your bank details?

It does sound like completion hasn't happened, I think your best bet is to try get hold of his solicitor for clarity - I'm sure calling enough times and leaving enough messages will get you a response - emails are too easy to ignore.

I suppose it is important to rememebr that it has only been a weekend (where the solicitors would have been closed) and we're now Monday morning. I'm sure you'll hear back some sort of update later today, even if it is that completion has been delayed a day or two.
