Electoral Roll - Mortgage offer extension

Hi I’m about to complete on my house sale and will be moving into rental accommodation before my new build will be ready in Spring 2022. I’ve updated all my addresses to my rental property but have received a letter from the council that they won’t update my address on the electoral roll until 01 Dec. I need to extend my mortgage offer in Nov and they will do a credit check (credit score is excellent but I am concerned about the issue with the electoral roll not being updated until Dec - Anyone have any experience of this? What are my chances of getting the council to send an update to the credit reference agencies in light of my situation? Any help / advice would be appreciated.

  • Keep your letter safe. Lenders know councils update the ER at certain points through the year. When it comes to the extension, send the lender / broker a copy of the letter with any other requested documents.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

    Not going to happen.
It doesn't matter anyway though, lenders are well aware of this situation.
