Learning to walk before I run

@Suffolk_lass - thanks for that. I'm sure I can get a recommendation for a local sports physio, I'm definitely not the first person in my class to injure themselves!
Have been very well behaved because Mrs E is taking the load - have been horizontal since noon yesterday. Tried to sleep with my leg elevated (back sleeping), but tossed and turned a fair bit as lower back sore from so much time lying down. Using a crepe bandage, leg elevated, plenty of painkillers. It hasn't swollen/bruised yet - hopefully that's a good sign? Not actually too sore until I have to stand up or sit down.
Happy Mother's Day 🍾8 -
I have used my horizontal time to catch up on some financial admin, there wasn't much else to do.£423.73 paid off my CC, £6 to OP and ISA and ordered 8kg of Tabby cat's dried food from Am@zon as the price dropped slightly + there was a 30% off code going begging. Somewhat annoyingly I realised that I'd forgotten to pay my utility bill, despite taking the money off the budget. Paid now, but we've lost £151
I have set up a DD for future payments.
Mrs E is tired and a little grumpy, can't blame her, but feel powerless to do anything practicalShe's going to take DD to a local park for a walk in the sunshine and to visit the nice little cafe there. DD had a local friend round for a sleepover last night and their behaviour was impeccable, very impressed for a 6 and a 7 YO.
We have received a perfectly sensible quote for the loft. Going to see how big the gap is between the more and less tax-avoidy options before making our minds up, both seem like decent builders (relative morals aside).10 -
Ooh, excellent news on the quote!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!8 -
Topped up my Lottery account the other day after getting £140 for a current account switch (£7.50). Topped up my SIPP by £7.52 to balance it out (£9.40 after tax relief). I invested in my usual European fund, think it's a safe bet that it is still under the target allocation.
Mrs E seems a little more cheerful after some sunshine7 -
Great news on the loft quote. Well done on the CC payment. Ouch on the utility payment miss.

A very tiring and frustrating 11 hour work day where I worked from my bed to keep my leg elevated
£209.31 paid off CC

That's tough, Ed, hope tomorrow's better - and I hope you can sleep well, because *that* sort of tiring isn't good.2023: the year I get to buy a car8

A more normal 9 hour day today. I even managed to go downstairs a few times and managed to do the dishes and clean up after dinner (couldn't use the brush and dust pan to sweep up the crumbs from the floor).
Tomorrow is my last working day of the week as I have some time off around my birthday. I'm going to try sitting up in a chair and everything!£296.99 paid off CC, £7 OPed and £7 paid towards ISA. I've made my Monday payments early as we're on holiday on Monday, weekly payments now up to £7 each. By my reckoning, that will be the last ISA payment of the tax year? I may add a little birthday money to my SIPP if I get any. The (financial) year has ended a lot better than I thought possible a few months ago.I got referred for a stock trading app that earned me the epic sum of £7.50 and will refer Mrs E in turn. Many thanks to the chap from MSE who used my Chip referral link, we should both get our tenner in a day or so. Trying to complete a referral for another Fintech firm that should hopefully net me IRO £30.8 -
