Your mortgage must be tiny, Ed!2

@badmemory - I'm jealous of my plumber
If I wasn't knocking on 40 I'd retrain.
@Alchemilla - it's only about £50k less than yours - it's just very looooooong!
My no more spends theory has gone out the window as I am meant to go grocery shopping and DD1 has grown out of her gym shoes. She has now passed 128cm tall, which I hadn't expected until she was about 94 -
The thing is, they just don't do what it says on the tin, these children. DS used to put on loads of weight all of a sudden and then grow 5cm in a month, so he looked taller and thinner. Weird. He is 6'4" 194cm now and seems to have stopped growing (hopefully, at 29, although he is looking taller but that might be his salary controlled diet...). When he was new, he was the longest baby they had ever had in that hospital
There's a reason he's our one and only
Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

@Suffolk_lass Good God - he's a man mountain! At least he'll be useful for accessing the top shelves and hanging things
I like salary controlled diet...
I have been paid and have transferred £2,500 to Mrs E for PB as I think we'll have enough money left in my current account to tide us over until February. No major expenses planned, but Mrs E has a litany of small orders and payments for me to sort out this evening
Couch finance went through straight away, got the email on Monday morning 👍
I was back at my class at 06:30 this morning and am officially cream crackered! I really struggle with sleeping the night before. I don't think it's because I dread the class (any more), the feeling is more akin to "missing a flight" anxiety. Possibly because I'm worried I'll sleep in past my 05:30 alarm? 🤔5 -
Am I allowed to ask what the class is?4

@Alchemilla - of course, I've mentioned it several times (not being mysterious) but you've recently returned! It's an athletic training class with two weekly strength training sessions and sprints at the weekend4

After coming to the realisation that figures for retirement living standards largely seem to be predicated on the assumption that you have paid off your mortgage, I have made my first overpayment in 6+ years! The £4 will make all the difference
Because I can't resist a wee plooter, I'll also pay a matching £4 into my ISA to see whether or not I can get to mortgage neutral a wee bit quicker with investments doing some of the lifting. Feels good to be on this board without false pretences again

Thanks Al, it certainly is. Made another £4 payment to both mortgage and ISA for last week. I figure if I can stick with it weekly it'll be over £400 this year, better than a poke in the eye.
