Learning to walk before I run

I went to a seminar once where the lecturer said that excluding Scotland itself, the county who dealt with Scottish tax the most was Essex! How and why? (This was at least 4 years ago)
Didn't know you played the lottery ed! But I love the entertainment value of imagining all the things you could with the winnings!6 -
@elantan - thank you but I haven't been promoted!Another £5 paid into the SIPP (£6.25 after tax relief). Something is eating at me, not sure what it is but I feel worried.6

Could it be something as simple as the air pressure being high. I tends to make me feel twitchy/a bit stressed for no reason.

You've got a lot on your plate individually, Ed; and the country as a whole, the *globe* as a whole isn't doing so well. I'm betting, though, that the building work you're having done has good insulation? The bits we do for ourselves matter, a lot, it's all we have control over. The finances are good!2023: the year I get to buy a car5

@badmemory - quite possibly, or a touch of the Sunday blues?
@Karmacat - the new bedroom is a wonderful "hat" for the house. 10cm+ thick solid foil backed insulation in the roof, insulated plasterboard and an insulated floor covered in 22mm tongue and groove, insulated underlay and the nice new bamboo flooring 👍7 -
Sounds pretty energy efficient.

I've had a good wee run of Prolific surveys over the last few days - £5.84 paid into my SIPP (£7.30 after tax relief). I am holding my breath somewhat to see if the floated/leaked government plans for freezing energy prices come to pass and appear to be good. If so, we'll not ease our foot off the accelerator re. S&S purchases and I'll feel a bit more relaxed borrowing towards the cost of a new to us car.
I *think* I've had the last spends towards the building works (bar the builder's last invoice) after I purchased some extra flooring accessories. Cleaners are booked in for a deep clean next Tuesday, it's all starting to feel a bit real8
