I don't disagree to be honest but it has to be the same for everyone.

I live in an area with lots of listed buildings so I do get it, but I'm not sure how living open plan is sustainable. How do you secure your garden after an extension in this case?
The plan in the OP shows exactly how the garden was to be secured. The new fence was to run up to the extension, but not go between it and the road.

I agree, but in fact the plan in the OP is the version the planners didn't like.

The approved plan reduces the amount of enclosure, deletes the back gate, and deletes the paving around the side of the house.

That's interesting. There must have been some links in the thread that have been removed since the original posts?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • This is the reply I got from the planning enforcement officer

i have sent a letter to the property letting them know that a fence above 1m requires planning permission. However, given the recent application whereby the green border was supposed to be retained and a lack of other fences within the area, I have made the owners aware within the letter that an application would not receive officer report for approval and that the fence needs to be removed. I have yet to receive a reply to the letter which was sent last Friday.

No links, but there was a small detail in one of the pictures that the OP has subsequently and understandably removed for privacy reasons (I assume)

It is an interesting demonstration of the limitations of a public forum like this one - the info in the planning history gives a different slant on things compared to what can be shared online.

For me that highlights the importance of people getting advice on here to also do some research in other places to verify what they hear.
