How to get primter back ON LINE

A few weeks ago I had a problem with my printer which I thought I had solved but it has happened again when I go into printers and scanners it shows as being offline anI can only use it by using a USB lead.The printer is a Brother DCP-J315W.What I have done so far is as follows.Clicked on menu then selected network then set up wizard then Plusnet-xtgt came up I clicked on OK then entered the wireless passsword and printed WLAN Report which says connection ok biut still offline and not sure what else to try.My OS is Windows 10

You my try restarting the Print Spooler on Windows 10 to see if this brings it online.

If that doesn't work, it would probably be helpful if you could try printing over the wireless network from another device, e.g. an old computer or your mobile phone. This would prove whether the problem was on Window 10, which I suspect it might be, or on the printer.

This will usually be because the printer is set to a dynamic IP.  A device gets an address for so many hours/days/weeks and when it expires they ask for a new one.  Normally it will get the same one again but sometimes it won't.  And that causes problems with wireless printers.

You need to set the printer up with a fixed IP address.  See documentation that came with the printer for how to do this, and then you install the device on Windows with that fixed address.  These don't expire, so it should always be able to find the printer.

Have now got it working I turned the router off as well as the printer and laptop left for 30 minutes then turned them back on and it worked so will remember that for the next time.
