Advice please?

So we live in a 3 bedroom end terrace, currently paying £128 per month for gas and electric. This seems steep but really unsure to be honest?

Perhaps I’m just being lazy but looking for advice on who to switch to/which methods to follow to get the best deal and save the most money here?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

You need to do some work .

Start by working out your Actual Annual Consumption.  Find ACTUAL meter reads about 12 ago  and read you meters NOW
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    Forget £128 a month.

Get a bill out from this time last year and then find your most recent bill and hope they're not based on not estimated readings on both counts. Then find out what your unit rates and standing charges are.  You can work out from this information what your usage (subtract this year reading from last year ) and annual cost is (rate x amount + (365 * standing charge).  If your readings are all estimates, then... go back and find an actual reading and repeat.

If you've never given meter readings since you joined the provider you're with now and all your bills are full of estimated readings because the meters haven't seen daylight for months on end then its hardly surprising you're paying £128 considering it will be based on a random guess plucked out of thin air.

You can pump annual figures into a comparison website and take it from there.

Do you take meter readings ? Ask your energy company what your actual annual use-ages are And on uswitch and do a comparison energy check to see if you can find a cheaper tariff
