IKEA Laminate?

Hi all,
We're replacing our current laminate with new laminate.
After hearing so many good things about the quality of QuickStep, we had pigeonholed ourselves into going with them. But frankly, we've not found one option that tickets all the boxes. Namely, the colour.
Looking for laminate with a realistic wood effect and texture, bevels, and very light colour (but, not white or grey). A wider than usual plank size would be really nice, too.
We're looking to do around 45-55 square metres (depending on whether we do the conservatory, or not!).
This is the one we'd had our eyes on:
https://www.quick-step.co.uk/en-gb/laminate/signature/sig4763_brushed-oak-natural
9mm, 25 year guarantee, 212mm wide
£31.49 per square metre
Would cost: £1420-£1740
Just come back from a family trip to the Netherlands, and in the European IKEA stores, they sell laminate (the UK IKEA stores don't do laminate anymore, frustratingly).
This is one we'd spotted:
https://www.ikea.com/nl/en/p/golv-laminated-flooring-light-oak-effect-30417568/
8mm, 15 year, 194mm wide
€11.95 / £10.20 per square metre
Would cost: £459-£561
In the last photo on the IKEA website, they've added a really weird series of "cuts". Looks like you've dragged furniture across it!
Does anyone have any experience with IKEA laminate?

Any reason why you want a "wood effect" laminate and not proper wood such as an engineered wood floor?1

We used IKEA laminate in the bedrooms of our last house, but that was purchased back in 2012 when they still did laminate in the UK. I loved it. Easy to lay, looked great and was still in as new condition when we moved out in 2018. It was also incredibly cheap.I wanted to get it for the bedrooms at our new house and was disappointed to find they no longer sold it here.
I would recommend you find the local area where all the flooring shops congregate - all cities seem to have that - and just go around to see loads of options. I was looking at QuickStep etc, but ended up going with a brand I’d never heard of for a fraction of the cost.I have to say, though, I’m all about LVP/LVT these days. Much more durable than laminate.0 -
I put Ikea laminate flooring in my bedroom over 15 years ago. It is marked but through abuse rather than wear. One wall was hacked back to the brickwork with the plaster rubble shovelled directly off the floor which unsurprisingly left marks but was far less damaged than expected. I often drag a very heavy chest of drawers across it I recently tried to buy some more and was disappointed that they don't still do it. I bought a cheap B&Q floor which is much poorer quality. Its very odd they've included that picture, is it damage. Oak can have medullary rays across the grain, is that an attempt to duplicate them? The Ikea floor is well rated so should be hard wearing.

If that is what you like, go for it.Overall product value for money is excellent to the point of unbeatable. In store customer service is good, online is utterly terrible. The sheer volume of stuff I've bought from Ikea over the years, stuff lasts if it's left in situ. I have to forgive them for the rare, but dramatic, run ins I've had. Always better in store and still the product is better than more expensive alternatives.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
