  • I might try and negotiate on the office overheads cost as he is also doing the sale of my property. Thank you all for your feedback!

It's probably a little on the high side but if the service is good then I'd say it's worth every penny. You can get conveyancing services for a lot less but you get what you pay for, the service can be terrible. Ours was a little less than this but the service has been great. I'm glad I didn't scrimp here!

I agree. From my Google research, it seems that which solicitor you work with makes as much (if not more) difference than the firm itself. For eg. a few highly rated firm on TrustPilot had some really poor reviews and most of them seemed directed at few specific solicitors.

I got referred to the solicitor friend recently worked with and I'm really happy with the quality of service. The firm itself is not well-known and has very few reviews online.

I think that looks fair, you might be able to request a small discount due to the fact you are giving them two lots of business as their client. Perhaps even a gift card on completion ?
If it’s a leasehold prices are most certainly always higher as their is a lot more work involved.
Make sure they are a good conveyancer. I have paid this price before and almost pulled my hair out with stress due to their lack of competency. I then found a conveyancer that I use and quite happy to pay whatever price they quote me because I know they are the best!
