Repeated rejections in funding Atom fixed savings account

I have now tried to fund my Atom 1yr fixed account 4 times, from 2 different bank accounts.
Each time the payment failed to arrive in Atom and the next day there is a return of the money to the donor current account.

Is this a common problem before I bother to spend time chasing an app-based bank?

Don't you have have to fund your Atom account from your nominated/connected account so are you trying send from a non connected account?

Yes, I think their minimum funding is £50

I usually do a £1 test transactions to new payees

I opened one yesterday. 

Minimum opening deposit is indeed £50

Sent that. Received in seconds.

Sent balance to same payee details just created. 

Job done in minutes.

I opened one today (already have an account with them) and the money was in there within 5 minutes.

Definitely the amount you are sending is the problem.

Agreed. I opened an Atom Fixed Savings Account on Saturday and it stated on the app that the first transfer had to be a minimum of £50, so I transferred that amount as a test from my Barclays current account (via online banking) and the transfer was instant
