Smart meter display - showing gas only
I had a smart meter installed yesterday - with a display identical to this one
Before leaving the guy said that it takes time for something (I don't remember), so I didn't ask questions. He said that there was no paper manual, but I found a digital tutorial built it.
The problem is that the display shows gas only, no electricity. No yellow arch on the left, no yellow 'lightning' symbols, no amount.
The manual says "You can customise your display in the Settings menu, but there I see only one layout, '1 of 1' and the only active button is 'Set'. And this layout shows only gas (flame symbol). All pictures in the tutorial show both gas and electricity.
Also, there is no WiFi symbol in the top right corner, but I don't know what WiFi is needed for.
Any advice before I phone the installers?

The installers work for your supplier, and the supplier has the Licence obligation to support your meters. What you are looking at is the In House Display (IHD) not the ESME or GSME. The IHD connects to the comms hub that sits above the ESME (the electricity meter) and does this by connecting to what is known as the Home Area Network. (the icon top left)
The most likely reason for what you are seeing is the lack of time needed for your supplier to fully commission your ESME. Before it can communicate with any smart meter, it has to send out security certificates to each of your meters. Once the commissioning process has been completed, you will get an "ESME Commissioning Completed' message on your IHD: this process can take a few days. In sum, be patient.
Finally, you have an IHD/CAD 6. The CAD side of the IHD can be connected to your home wifi network. Most suppliers tend not to support this function. I know that Bulb does but you have to access Smart Things to get any data.
A simpler way of getting data is to download the app called BRIGHT. Once you are signed up Hildebrand (a Registered DCC User) and your meter is set up for 30 minute data (only your supplier can do this) then you can access data similar to this:

I should have added that you can see different data on the screen display in your photo by touching 'so far today'. Four presses will get to a page which shows electricity usage now in kWs/W.0 -
Thank you, it's all working now.For the record:Yesterday my display showed only one message received - "GSME commissioning completed".Today another message arrived - "ESME commissioning completed".So, until both 'commissionings' are completed and both messages are received the display doesn't provide full functionality.

I have the exact same display and every now and again I lose one / both readings. They always come back online a day or two later, but it will just not show them. No real rhyme nor reason from what I can tell.0
