2nd home stamp duty

hi,

So I have 1 residential property and 1 BTL,  if I sell my residential property and buy a new home do I pay stamp duty?

    It'll depend on how much the new home costs - but you shouldn;t have to pay the additional 3% as you are replacing your main residence.

    Many thanks what if I was to get consent to let on my residential property and then bought a residential property would i occur the 3%?

    you would then be going from 2 properties to 3 and will not have disposed (sold) of you main residence so the 3% would apply.
