When should I switch from EDF?
I was one of the unfortunate ones who was with Green Energy when it ceased trading and I was moved to EDF. I want to move before 1st October when the cheap rate that EDF put me on finishes and they move me to a much higher tariff. However I’m still waiting for my credit balance that I had with Green Energy to be credited to my EDF account. I’ve contacted Green Energy and EDF who can’t give any indication of when this is going to happen. I’m worried about moving providers before my EDF account receives my credit balance from Green Energy in case I never see it but I don’t want to be stuck with EDF’s fixed or variable rates which are not competitive and much higher than other providers after 1st October. Any advice would be appreciated.

In your position I'd switch even if EDF hadn't sorted out your bill. You might want to consider switching very early in October, in order to take advantage of EDF's promise that GNE customers wouldn't pay more on their transitional tariff than they would with GNE. But by hanging on until then you risk prices going up again; it's a gamble either way.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile.
