I have found HMV a little slow sometimes but have always got the items in reasonable time and its worth the wait if they are cheaper for a particular item.
I never buy from the store though as they are much more expensive
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

Morning everyone! Hope you're not too frazzled by Christmas shopping - but being seasoned MSEs, you're probably not anyway!

I have a quick question about HMV's pricing policy. There's an item in my local store of which I need at least 4 copies (possibly 8) priced at £25, but on their website it's about £18. Quite a big difference, especially for multiple copies!

I think the site terms say something about website prices only being valid for online purchases - but does anyone know if the stores will match the price? If anyone has had the same experience I'd love to know.

I was also wondering whether to try bartering - maybe start at £20 each?! I've never tried this, and I probably won't be very good at it - but has anyone tried it (successfully) at HMV?

Anyway, thanks so much for any potential answers, and I'll speak to you soon.

    Back to the fray...!

    Why not order them online?

I have now ordered twice from HMV.COM and they have failed to dispatch within 2 weeks - this is despite a lack of stock availability confirmed on the website at the point of order. I would not recommend anyone use this website.

    Good luck.

Is anyone else waiting for deliveryfrom HMV? My order was sent a week ago, and still has not arrived.

I rang up, but was advised that it can take 2 weeks. 2 weeks from dispatch is Christmas day.:p I am concerned that it has 'gone astray' rather than delayed. I do wish they would not print the title on the front of the box, an invitation to a thief or what?

  • Hi

Yes, I am waiting on several packages from HMV to arrive. One lot are a re ordered as the first lot never arrived!!! But even those should have appeared by now. Starting to get a little tetchy thinking both orders will never arrive now.

Who do I contact at Royal Mail if parcels are going missing, my local sorting office or is there a main contact?

I ordered something last week that was dispatched last friday. Not worried at the moment as i find it normally takes 3-4 days as its got to come over from Guernsey plus Royal Mail are busier at this time of year.
