Failure to pay automatic compensation - SKY

Hi
Wondering if anyone can help me. Under Automatic Compensation Rules, Sky has to pay me £1169.28 as they didn't install my broadband for 11 months during the pandemic. In the end, I told them I didn't want it as I'd had to go with EE mobile broadband as the only solution.
I was told this would be paid into my account by the 2nd August. Since then, I have rung 3 times and all had a different fob off. The latest one that they cannot refund more than £1000 and it has to be escalated and it would be dealt with within 72hrs...it is now 5 working days later.
Is it fair to say I should start a small claims against them as I'm not getting anywhere with them. I have emails etc from them (I have checked they are legit and they are) that says I am owed this money. I don't have an account with them - never really did as they never actually installed the product I ordered in September 2020 (they did ask if they could in July 2021!).
Any help, greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Um, but if you don't have an account and you've never had an account, how can you be owed nearly £1200? What were you doing for broadband for those 11 months?

I find it very very odd that Sky would pay that sort of amount .

I would do a SAR first, see everything they have on file for you, then if needs be log a further complaint and if not resolved it goes to the Ombudsman.
