Advice on using a wealth preservation fund

Hi, I have 6 figure investments in usual vanguard/global tracker type funds and very happy with that approach. A few months back I acquired 6 figure cash and have been struggling with what to do with it given the state of the markets being so high. I know you can't time the market etc but I just don't feel comfortable…

I am not sure if I can link here to other message boards here but, just out of interest, there was a similar discussion on bogleheads from a poster asking if he should invest his 200k now or wait for the 'crash'..
